Don't get me wrong, i did enjoy it, but i just think it could have been better. The movie is supposedly based on a book by kody keplinger (which she supposedly wrote when she was 17), which is amazing, because they have already made this movie at least 10 times.

Each has their faults, but also merits. The main showstoppers in this reality program are acclaimed cake masters and pastry chefs duff goldman and buddy valastro. Turns out there’s a lot huge differences between the two, and the differences are so big that they can’t be pushed to the side and ignored in favor of watching a great flick.

The book was about how stereotyping is a pile of crap, yet the film strove to make stereotypes out of the characters. This was one of the biggest differences from the movie. I grew to love jessica and casey a lot more, and it sucked to see bianca pulling away from them and hurting them.

I would have to say, i like both of them. The movie adaptation was sooo much more sophisticated, had better comedic timing and pop culture references, and dealt with the duff phenomenon in a much better (socially responsible) fashion. I don’t think i want to recommend this book to my friends, unless you’re a big book nerd and curious to see the origins of the screenplay to the hollywood blockbuster.
