Miss peregrine's is a young adult novel, but one that transcends the genre and is enjoyable even for those of us who have left high school far in the past. Miss peregrine is naked when she turns from a bird into a human, but keeps herself hidden by a sheet, which she then wraps around herself.

You might be familiar with this series, because it was adapted to be a movie a few years ago. Better late than never, right, and i am so glad i did because, if in some parts the book was not as. Miss peregrine’s school for peculiar children is no horror story.

Exciting action and spooky atmospheres are balanced with periods of relative calm while the kids try to find answers to puzzling clues. The conference of the birds brings back favorite characters, introduces new ones, and comes right out of the gate at a full gallop. The best books in the genre (think harry potter) feature young adult leading characters and high school age problems, but also rise above the mundane to speak to the problems of a bigger adult world.

I thought i would do a book review today as a few weeks ago i finished reading a book and i’d like to share my thoughts on it. ‘it turns out it isn’t actually a ghost story, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t creepy. The paper is heavy and thick.

The brutal murder of his grandfather and a glimpse of a man with a mouth full of tentacles prompts months of nightmares and. First, this book is gorgeous. The fact the in contains creepy and weird vintage photographs makes the story way better and makes you want to read it all as quickly as possible( which i did).

I know, i know, i shouldn’t be dazzled by the trappings, but seriously just go look at this thing. ‘miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children’ by ransom riggs. Still, the book is fascinating, especially because the vintage photos make all the weirdness seem even eerier, and quite authentic.

Eva green is not my idea of miss peregrine from the book, but she has a look i find compelling, and i am sure her acting ability will keep us endeared to the character. It all waits to be discovered in miss peregrine’s home for peculiar children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience.
