Ewing casts a wide net into the sea of marvel characters and reeled in some great forgotten and obscure cosmic characters and paints them in a way that even if you aren’t familiar with them, they almost immediately become beloved old friends that you’re going to want to spend more. But, this franchise has had some rough times since dna left the helm and brian bendis took over control.

Guardians of the galaxy is crowded with characters and incidents that sometimes spill over into confusion and chaos. In my review of ‘guardians of the galaxy’ #17, i had a theory that bendis would only start telling us what happened in the cancerverse on the very last page of this issue. This is the guardians after all, and big bad knull certainly isn’t going to stop them from cracking jokes, however devastating his rampage across the galaxy might be. Guardians of the galaxy doesn't seamlessly fit together all of the moving parts, even if together they make a very charming comic book story. Guardians of the galaxy was never the most popular marvel super team, so it was a little surprising that out of all of marvel's back catalog, this property got chosen for the big screen.

Guardians of the galaxy #13 debuts the refreshed team and new status quo. Guardians of the galaxy #150 is a bit of an odd duck of a comic. That means their only hope lies with victor von doom.

The second chapter of the next stage for the guardians starts with a bang. From that point on the guardians of the galaxy have been a pedestrian read and a bit of a jumbled mess. The big ideas are fun and there are emotional character moments that build from previous issues, but a sprawling cast and lackluster art hold back the issue's explosive potential as an exciting launching point.

Unfortunately, the comic spends a little too much time making a fool out of nova and attempts to convey a message about things being more complex nowadays for both earth and the wider marvel universe. Marvel's guardians of the galaxy is slated to release later this year on october 26 and will be coming to xbox series x, xbox one, playstation 5, playstation 4, nintendo switch, and pc platforms. The marvel cosmic is in complete disarray.
