I can't emphasize enough how surprised i was by this book! Mother knows best isn’t really about rapunzel. Mother knows best is the story of mother gothel, and how she came to be the villain we all know from tangled.

The reader then starts to understand the character’s position in the family and other central characters and their motivations. There were a lot of characters to remember in mother knows best, but the story is laid out well. The book has been awarded with booker prize, edgar awards and many others.
